Valencia, Spain

Short trip this one. Landed today, leaving for a South Spain road trip tomorrow. Reason behind the excitement for Valencia (in Eastern Spain) is its rice dish paella – often synonymous with Valenician identity. Valencia is said to be the undisputed home of the paella. So –  this evening, we made our way down to Passeig De Neptu, right by the beach in Valencia to try out an authentic dish of paella. Medium grain rice (reminds me of arborio, although less creamy), veggies, saffron. Of course, the adventurous could add meat or seafood to this. And if I were to make it, I would cut down on the eggplant and zucchini and add some green beans, white beans, carrots, red pepper and peas. Really hoping to buy myself a paella pan on this trip šŸ™‚
